2022 Christmas Mini Success
This year I hosted my Christmas mini sessions once again, at Soft Light Studios. A photography studio available for rent to other photographers as far as Parkersburg WV to Huntington WV. It truly is the cutest creative space, and during the cold winter it allows me to insure my clients are kept warm.
My typical sessions throughout the year mainly consists of Maternity portraits, Newborn portraits, and the occasional family Photography. Of course though, my weekends are jammed with weddings which keeps me on my toes at time. For me, and most local photographers, busy season is at the peak of fall and finishes around Christmas. Christmas minis are definitely one of the most stressful things I take on in my business. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE working with children. Sometimes it’s my favorite part simply because I know I am a kid at heart, but sometimes working with about 20 kids a day can be quite exhausting.
So your brain is probably saying “Then why do all of that?”. Well, it’s simple. I love my business and I love my clients. Most of my mini session clients are return clients, who are very loyal to me. This sweet girl here loves seeing me every time. I do annual family portraits for her mom too. We always play and hug, and she loves to see the back of my camera.
And this here is my sweet girl Lilly. She’s literally a little model. All the time when we are home she’s asking for her picture taken, and she has started a little collection of her own toy cameras. She enjoys bringing them with her when we go places. I really didn’t need to pose her at all. Maybe it was because it was earlier in the day so she didn’t need a nap haha!
This year I got one booking in my Christmas minis that was not a family, which I was actually surprised but still excited!
It gave me a chance to get a little more creative, which felt like a break during those long four hours. I was also jealous of their matching pajamas because they were so pretty! Trevor and Victoria follow Soft Light Studios on instagram, so they planned to match the studio’s aesthetic which worked out beautifully.
